Alanis Morissette Announces On Instagram That She’s Pregnant At Age 44
Alanis Morissette, who solidified herself as a force in alternative rock back in the ‘90s, is expecting her third child. Where did the time go?
She surprised fans with an Instagram post showcasing her growing belly and signs that new music is in the works. People are losing it over the quiet announcement but excited that the singer is back to making songs. Morissette’s last album was released in 2012.
She and husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway are already parents to son Ever, 8, and daughter Onyx, 2. Not only has the 44-year-old singer been open about having a home birth, but she’s also discussed her struggles with post-partum depression after having each child.
Morissette has also blogged about parenting, wellness, and feminism, and strongly supports breaking the negative stigma that women who have children after 35 are “geriatric.”
She’s happy, fans are ecstatic, and it’s only a matter of time until the “newness” is brought into the world. No formal announcement has been made about the baby’s due date, but it’s probably safe to guess that she and her hubby will introduce the new addition on social media right after he or she is born.
As for new music, there is no anticipated arrival date for that either, but fans can tide themselves over with the Jagged Little Pill theater production that will be hitting the Broadway stage in the fall. Stay tuned!
