Readin’, Writin’ and Freebies for Kids

Even if you do not teach, check teacher websites, presidential library websites, state agencies and national park websites for free educational coloring sheets, word searches, crossword puzzles and other cool games for a variety of ages and reading levels. Some teacher websites give free content in the hopes that you will buy their other content, but you’re not required to do the latter. Governmental agencies have a wealth of educational freebies for kids: I’ve found a dinosaur coloring book to download through Texas Parks and Wildlife, an interactive game Lincoln at the Crossroads, several video action games at icivics, among many other goodies. They’re a sure cure for bored kids on weekends, spring break or summer vacations, they teach them something — and did I mention, they’re all free?
