Stop Discarding Avocado Seeds. Eat Them Instead! Here’s How.

Avocados have a million benefits and uses. Sliced on sandwiches, in salads – in scrambled eggs is my personal favorite! But what about the rest of the avocado? You might think that the pit is something that gets carved out and thrown away, but little did you know you were entirely wrong. Not only do avocado seeds have health uses (check out this amazing avocado seed facial scrub) but you can actually EAT them, too. Obviously you can’t just pop the avocado seed in your mouth…that wouldn’t go over well. But there is a technique to getting that seed safely edible! Check out the video below to see how it’s done.

HOW TO EAT AN AVOCADO SEED

Step 1: Remove the pit from the avocado.
Step 2: Rise the seed and dehydrate at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 hours.
Step 3: Remove the outer skin and then press a knife into the crack of the pit until it breaks open.
Step 4: Dice up the seed (it should be soft enough), then blitz it in the blender until it’s very fine.

Use the ground up avocado in smoothies and baking for a boost of anti-oxidants! What a perfect way for an all-natural boost of nutrients. There is nothing avocados can’t do.
