The PERFECT Cake for Christmas

If you’re on the hunt for a new holiday cake to make this year, then you have come to the right place. This moist, red velvet roulade with cream cheese frosting is not your grandma’s Christmas fruit cake, that’s for sure. YouTube chef Gemma Stafford brings us this delicious new holiday cake that is a must try this season!

 

YOU’LL NEED

Red Velvet Roulade

  • Eggs (Room Temperature)
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Red Food Dye
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Corn Starch
  • Parchment Paper

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • Cream Cheese
  • Butter
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Shifted Icing Sugar

To roll your roulade, which can be very tricky, mimic the act of rolling the roulade once it comes out of the oven to get the cake to expect being bent. This helps to keep the roulade from cracking when it’s time to roll your cake!

Some helpful hints: make sure your eggs, cream cheese and butter are all room temperature. Also, make sure to add your your butter AFTER your cream cheese is whipped, to keep the frosting light and fluffy
