Most people can’t tell the difference between cheap and expensive wines. That’s according to a study conducted by the American Association of Wine Economists:

“Individuals who are unaware of the price do not derive more enjoyment from more expensive wine. In a sample of more than 6,000 blind tastings, we find that the correlation between price and overall ratings is small and negative, suggesting that individuals on average enjoy more expensive wines slightly less.”

That’s good news for those of us looking to enjoy a bottle of wine on the cheap. So in general, we shouldn’t be scared away by cheap wines. And if you’re looking for specific recommendations for low-cost vinos, check out AOL’s list of 5 top wines for under $6:
