4 Salads-In-Jars for a Happy and Healthy Work Week

Looking for a healthy lunch idea? Aren’t we all…it’s one thing to plan out dinners for each week, but some people struggle with lunch the most. You know the deal: It usually winds up being a free-for-all with what’s left in the fridge from the week…or take-out from the Chinese food place near your job.

But if you’re sick of spending money on expensive general Tso’s chicken, then we have some good news for you. Luckily, there are lots of ways to ensure you have a healthy, fulfilling lunch for every day of the work week—one that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and doesn’t take very long to prepare, either.

Drumroll, please! We’re talking about…salad.

Don’t worry, it’s a lot more exciting than it sounds, we promise.

Before you mimic gagging by sticking out your tongue at us, hear us out. This isn’t your standard lettuce with a few toppings. In fact, some of these salads we’re talking about don’t even include lettuce at all (that’s right, there’s such a thing).

That’s because we’re talking about innovative salads that are made in a jar.

What’s so special about that? Not only are these salads easy to prep (they’ll last in the fridge for up to four or five days) and put together, but they don’t taste like your boring healthy salad you might think of when you think of salad. We swear you’re actually going to look forward to eating these every day.

What’s the deal with the jar? Packing your salads in a mason jar allows you to keep your entire salad compact and ready to eat when it’s lunchtime. You add the dressing on the bottom so it doesn’t get soggy, followed by all your other ingredients. That way, when you’re ready to eat it, you just shake it all up and it’s ready to go.

Thanks to The Domestic Geek, we have four amazing salad in a jar recipes for you: The tasty “Fresh and Fruity,” “Protein-Packed,” “Asian-Inspired” and “Greek” combos will have you satisfied for almost the whole work week! We’re drooling just thinking about them.
