Study Suggests That Women Sleep Better at Night While Sharing Their Beds With Dogs
Anyone who is a proud dog owner knows that our canine friends are super, SUPER nice to cuddle with at night. As a matter of fact, research shows that women who cuddle up with a fur baby, actually enjoy better sleep quality, than those who cuddle up next to a partner.
We’re not joking!
A study conducted by researchers at Canisius College in Buffalo found that women who sleep only with dogs reap plenty of health benefits in the form of restful snoozing. Here’s why researchers think dogs help gals sleep better:
Dog ownership and its associated responsibilities may cause individuals to adhere to a stricter routine. Keeping to a consistent sleep schedule may be beneficial to dog owners.
On the other side of the coin is female cat owners. Perhaps unsurprisingly, felines pretty much do NOTHING to help their sleep routines. In fact, cats were found to be “equally as disruptive” as human partners.
Can’t say that we’re surprised to hear that revelation! We could have saved researchers a bucket of money by telling them that our cat certainly doesn’t help our sleep quality. Actually, we’re pretty sure that she tries her darndest to WORSEN our sleep quality. But that’s another story…
