There are lots of words that you never want to call a pregnant lady, let alone a duchess—among the top of the list is probably “fat.” Common sense, right? Maybe for some.

The Duchess of Cambridge, beautiful Meghan Markle, who’s expecting her first child, recently stepped out at her first visit to animal welfare charity Mayhew in London, glowing more than ever.

On the same day, a video emerged of Markle meeting several elderly ladies who get visits from their therapy dogs. As she went down the row of women, each one complimented her more than the next. But the last lady she met, though friendly, said something a little alarming to her.

“Lovely lady, you are, may the good Lord always bless you,” the lady said, before pausing to continue with: “And you’re a fat lady.”

Wait. Did this lady seriously just call the pregnant duchess fat? We could not believe our ears! It’s not a word we associate with the duchess at all.

Her cream dress hugged her pregnant curves, and her Armani jacket and Stella McCartney purse were the perfect accessories to the ensemble. She looked radiant, per usual.

Apparently, the woman was just trying to compliment her healthy pregnancy—she didn’t mean it in a negative way at all. Thank goodness!

As everyone held their breath waiting for how Markle would react, she didn’t respond in a negative way. She actually laughed and responded in the classiest way we could think. What can we say, didn’t expect anything different from this elegant broad!
