Wheelchair-Bound Groom Didn’t Let His Chair Get in the Way of Dancing With His Bride

A wedding is always an emotional event. It’s truly life-changing when two people decide they want to spend the rest of their lives together. This is not something to be taken lightly. When two people commit themselves to each other, it’s a big deal and definitely something to celebrate.

There are sure to be tears shed at some point during the wedding or the reception. The parents may be a little sad seeing their children all grown up and leaving the nest. The bride and groom may be crying happy tears, thinking about their future together.

One bride was definitely crying happy tears during her first dance with her husband at her wedding reception. This was no ordinary first dance.

The bride looked gorgeous, as all brides do. Her hair and makeup were perfection. Her wedding dress fit perfectly, and she looked 100% confident and happy.

Her groom was in his tux, a smile glued to his face. The only thing that wasn’t 100% picture perfect, especially during a dance, was that the groom was in a wheelchair.

Sure, you can dance in a wheelchair. It may not look exactly the same as when you’re standing on your feet, but it is dancing, nonetheless.

The groom rolled over to his bride as she danced around him. He rolled in time to the music, and at one point, rolled over to two of the wedding guests. What happened next brought tears to our eyes. Fair warning: grab tissues now.

The two men helped the groom to his feet, his arms over their shoulders. He was standing. He was tall. He was on his feet. The music was playing.

His bride gazed at him, her hands covering her face. We’re not sure if she knew he was going to do this or if it was a complete surprise. She stood next to him, put her hands on his chest and rested her head on his chest too.

The two men supporting the groom even helped him sway from side to side in rhythm to the music. He was dancing, standing on his feet and slow-dancing with his bride.

All of the guests watching the happy couple clapped, smiles on their faces. We’re pretty sure we weren’t the only ones who shed a tear.

This is such a sweet moment that words truly don’t do it justice. Watch the bride and groom’s first dance for yourself in the video below.
