Disney characters are just that—cartoon characters on a screen. Most of the time, they were dreamed up by artists and created based on imagination. While sometimes characters are based on real people, most of their characteristics are still just made up in the end.

But—what if you could look at some of your favorite characters in real life? Thanks to an artist who refers to himself as Toyboyfan on social media, we can. He uses artificial intelligence to take a cartoon character and see what they’d look like if they were a real-life human. And honestly? It’s one of the coolest things we’ve seen in a while.

So how does he do it? First, he picks his character. Then, he searches for anyone who looks like the character, even a little bit. Using artificial intelligence technology, he’s able to fuse the two until they look united into one. If that doesn’t look quite right, he continues to alter the images until it looks perfect. He dives into the whole lengthy process below:

“For these A.I. edits, typically I start off with a photo of a Disney character and a photo of a real life person who I think looks like said character, then I put the two into the A.I. program that I use to merge the two together. Afterward, the result can look a little funny, so I take the resulting photo and combine it with another photo and so on until I get a somewhat realistic photo that kinda looks like the character. Then I will take the photo to Photoshop and start making tweaks here and there to make it look even more like the character, like changing the eye color or refining the face.”

The results are absolutely mind-blowing. Here are some of our favorites below:

  1. Elsa
