Warning: Why Your Stuff Might Not Be Safe in Your Hotel Room

When you stay in a hotel for multiple nights, do you typically leave your stuff out when maids come in to clean your room? If so, you might want to reconsider doing so. This video, taken in a brand name hotel in the states, might make you think twice about leaving your stuff out when you’re not in your room:

Here’s what Johnny Jet recommends doing:

If I’m staying at a hotel for just a couple of days, I leave the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door and refuse service. If I need my room cleaned or the bed made (though that’s very rare), I usually stay in the room while they do it. I also tip the maids well and usually in person. If I do go out, I almost always leave the valuables locked up in the safe—and even then, it’s usually easy for workers to crack.
