In an emotional statement shared on Cat’s Instagram page, her family announced her passing, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support they received during her illness. “This morning, from her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her heavenly creator,” the family wrote.

In the months leading up to her passing, she openly shared her dying wish with her followers: to have them stream “Dance You Outta My Head” on TikTok. “My art is all I have to leave behind, and I’m leaving it behind for my son to profit on,” Cat expressed on January 15. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she found solace in the fact that her music would continue to provide for her son even after she was gone.

Cat’s gratitude to her followers was evident in her posts, especially when her song began charting. “YOU ALL DID THIS. You gave me my dream come true,” she shared on Instagram, overwhelmed by the support. “Right when I needed it most. You all loved me back to life and gave me my ‘one more moment alive.'”

In a poignant message on January 6, she revealed the harsh reality of her condition. “I’ve got the [rough] news that cancer has won. I’ve fought hard, but sarcomas are too tough,” she acknowledged. Despite the heartbreaking update, Cat expressed gratitude for the love she received and held onto hope for a miracle.

In accordance with Cat’s wishes, her brother Cubby will manage her Instagram page as a memorial and oversee all aspects related to Cat’s music, merchandise, and public relations. The post on February 28 also hinted at more artistic creations Cat wanted to share in the future.
