Teens Can Work Out for Free This Summer at Planet Fitness Locations Nationwide
Are you a parent of a teen who’s bored every summer, and constantly bugging you about what they could do for fun? Do you have a child who’s always complaining they can’t do anything because they have no money?
We get it, the teenage years are certainly some of the toughest. But Planet Fitness has an amazing promotion going on right now to not only get your teens out of the house, but getting them active too, perhaps letting out that teen aggression (on the treadmill, and not on you). Trust us, you’re going to like it.
The popular gym chain, already known for its cheap $10 membership fee a month, is holding a challenge just for teens—one that will allow them to work out for free at all participating chains. It’s all part of their ‘Teen Summer Challenge,” which is open to people ages 15 to 18.
As a parent, you just need to accompany them during their first visit or sign their Planet Fitness Gym Waiver. So what are you waiting for? Sign them up to get in shape at Planet Fitness today!
The challenge, which begins May 15 and ends September 1, will not only encourage teens to work out at the gym, but also have fun with it. In addition to using the workout equipment, teens can also take free fitness classes at the facility, which are offered Monday through Friday.
Additionally, all teens who sign up for the free membership will be automatically entered into the Planet Fitness’ Scholarship Sweepstakes, where 51 teens will be chosen at random to get a $30,500 in scholarship money for a college. One grand prize winner will be chosen, who will also receive a $5,000 grand prize, as well as a first place winner from each state.
On top of it all, the teens who enter will also have the chance to win all kinds of prizes via the Planet Fitness Facebook and Instagram pages all summer long. From headphones to movie tickets and more, it’s a sweepstakes of a lot of wins here, people.
So what’s the deal, why are they doing this? Are they in trouble or something? Nah, last summer, Planet Fitness had a similar “summer challenge” at locations New Hampshire, it’s home state, where 2,500 teens registered and participated. They figured they could get the whole country involved this time.
Also, the Planet Fitness stock finished its 48th consecutive quarter with positive comps, so they’re not going out of business any time soon.
“I am confident that we have the right franchisees in place to more than double our U.S. presence and attract more casual and first time gym users to our welcoming, non-intimidating fitness offering, and do it in a manner that generates increased value for our shareholders over the long-term,” said CEO Chris Rondeau in a press release.
