4-Year-Old Girl Belts Out the Frank Sinatra Classic “My Way”
Every once in a while, we come across a musical act that really, REALLY wows us–but, it’s not often that the musical act is headed up by a preschooler.
Yep, you are reading this correctly: a 4-year-old is actually starting to make a name for herself in the music industry.
What were you doing when you were that age? Playing with blocks?
Same here…
But, the unimpressive milestones that we were all hitting at that age are beside the point, especially when we have a tot like Sophie Fantu to introduce you to. The curly-haired angel has only been alive for a short time, but that hasn’t stopped her from making her mark.
It all started last year, when she was selected to perform on Steve Harvey’s Little Big Shots, a television program that showcases the best young talent that the world has to offer. While on the show, the little one performed a surprisingly mature, ultra-passionate, and, frankly, adorable rendition of Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way.” Believe it or not, the little girl brought down the house and even attracted the attention of the nation’s top talent scouts.
After that memorable appearance, Sophie tried her hand at the notoriously-tough televised talent competition America’s Got Talent. It’s a show that would scare away the most seasoned of performers, but the pint-sized singer brought all of her natural confidence to the stage when she sang the Sinatra classic once again in front of an audience of millions.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the judges were positively wowed by the little girl’s chops, with all four of them–even Simon!–giving her “yes'”.
In the process of completing her televised performances, Sophie has managed to garner quite a bit of attention on social media; as of today, videos featuring the tiny star have been viewed tens of millions of times.
But, just because the now-5-year-old has a following most musicians would dream of, doesn’t mean she’s not your average kid. When the Charleston tot was interviewed by her local paper, the Charleston-Gazette Mail, her mother was quoted as saying that Sophie “enjoys the attention and loves to perform, but doesn’t pay attention to a lot of it.” Apparently, the little one has other hobbies, like playing dress-up and even baking sweet treats with her sister. Sounds like a balanced lifestyle to us!
Now that you know all about young Sophie’s meteoric rise to fame, it’s time to see for yourself why the little girl has gained a star at such an early age. To see the preschooler belt out the Frank Sinatra classic, “My Way,” on Steve Harvey’s Little Big Shots, be sure to watch the video below. Something tells us that we will be hearing this gal’s voice on the radio in years to come!
We’d love to hear your thoughts on the magnificent Sophie Fatu! Were you amazed by the little girl’s performance? Do you think she has the chops to make it in the music industry? Who’s your all-time favorite pint-sized singer?
