2 Sheet Pans and This 1 Trick Make Baking a Snap!
Let’s talk about our sheet baking pans for a minute. We all have them, but few of us think about using them for much more than baking cookies, catching drips, or reheating leftovers. Understandable, but it turns out that we’ve been missing out on some secret skills and tricks to make some of our favorite things. How does making six grilled cheese sandwiches all at once sound to you? Pretty amazing, right? It’s totally possible, and all we have to do is put two baking sheets together, as Bon Appétit explains.
Sandwiching food between two baking sheets in the oven gives you twice as much heated surface area for quicker and more even browning, not to mention a tidier shape.
So smart! For the grilled cheese, just butter both pieces of bread and skip the skillet. You can make as many sandwiches as you can fit onto the pans! Some other foods perfect for this technique:
- Vegetable chips
- Puff pastry
- Large amounts of toast (that won’t dry out!)
- Prosciutto chips
