Sextuplets and Their Parents Recreate an Iconic Family Portrait!
In 2010, Rozonno and Mia McGhee became the proud parents of a set of sextuplets. The couple had endured ten excruciating years of trying for children naturally before they eventually sought medical help and started the process of in vitro fertilization.
After the two had found out that the procedure had worked, they were shocked to find out that they weren’t going to be welcoming just one child into their home, they were going to have to make room for six!
When the McGhee children were born, Rozonno and Mia posed for a gorgeous photograph with their impressive brood. This adorable shot of all six babies surrounding their daddy became an instant hit. In fact, since their birth, these kids have appeared on OWN and TODAY, to name a couple! The family even has their very own show called Growing Up McGhee on the UP network.
Now the McGhee sextuplets– Elijah, Isaac, Josiah, Madison, Olivia, and Rozonno Jr.– are already six years old! To commemorate their birthday, as well as all of their media success, the family decided to recreate that iconic family portrait from when the children were just days old.
Can you believe just how much these kids have grown? We’ve got to say, the four boys and two girls are absolutely beautiful kids. What are the odds of having six kids in one family that all look like they could model for GAP Kids? The McGhee’s are doing great, but the parents did not always have secure feelings regarding their unique family. In an interview for their show, Mia says that the first thing that she did when she learned of the news that she was pregnant with six was pray.
“[I said] God, you’re blessing me with too much.” She goes on to say, “It was really hard to comprehend and know what was going to happen next.”
Today, both parents are doing great with their sextuplets. The children are now six years old and full of personality. You’ve got to check out their show—these kids are hilarious!
So, just what exactly are the odds of being blessed with six babies instead of one? Well, it’s so rare that researchers have just a rough estimate of how many are out there. According to Facts About Multiples, there were only about 179 reported cases of sextuplets in the entire world in 2007.
