Ariana Grande tries to keep her personal life out of the spotlight, and she has been fairly successful at it; however, news of big life changes almost always end up finding their way to the media. For example, Grande and Dalton Gomez got married in 2021. The wedding, which was a small, intimate ceremony with less than 20 people in attendance, was not in the spotlight, but the news that she married her long-time boyfriend still made headlines.
Now, two years after tying the knot, sad news is hitting headlines, news that Grande originally tried to deny. She and Gomez have split up. According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, the former couple split up earlier in 2023, but the source did not give a specific date, only saying that the exes “have been quietly and lovingly working on their friendship.”

Grande’s fans have been suspicious for awhile about her marital status, quickly noticing when she’s not wearing her wedding ring. One time she posted a makeup tutorial and didn’t have her ring on, but she shut down the rumors claiming it was “getting cleaned” and she was “not getting a divorce.” More recently, she was spotted sans ring while at Wimbledon.

Grande and Gomez’s home is in Montecito, California, but for months, she has been in London filming the screen adaptation of the Broadway musical “Wicked.” The couple has been apart since December 2022, but TMZ’s sources don’t believe the thousands of miles between them is what is driving them apart. Instead, the sources claim that the couple was having problems with their marriage long before Grande left the country.
While the future for their marriage looks bleak, sources claim the couple is still on friendly terms and talk to each other on the phone quite a bit.
