It is so hard to imagine what it must be like to have to grieve the loss of your loved one publicly. At the same time, we ought to be exceedingly grateful to the husband of Halyna Hutchins – Matt Hutchins, for opening up about his grief on the TODAY show.

Considering the rate at which we receive tragic news every single day, it is so easy for us to move on from single events like this after hearing about them. That is why it was so important for Matt Hutchins to sit down publicly and bring our collective attention back to this tragedy.

In case you missed it, in October of 2021, a cinematographer on the set of “Rust,” was fatally shot with a prop gun. There are a number of concerning details around the event, which you can read about in more detail here. Perhaps more disturbing than the event itself was producer and star Alec Baldwin’s less-than-stellar response to the incident.

Matt Hutchins certainly took issue with the way that Baldwin is spinning this tragedy and suggests that Baldwin is acting like he himself is the victim here. That must be so frustrating for a person going through so much pain.
