Celebrity gossip is always fun—but it’s been a while since an incident happened where people were more invested than they currently are in the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

The very public trial between the ex-spouses began on April 21 and revolves around a defamation lawsuit that Depp filed against Heard in 2019 about an op-ed she wrote about domestic abuse in 2018. Depp is suing because he claims that the article hurt his career to the point where he may not be able to come back.

The trial is supposed to last about six weeks, but it’s already garnering so much attention, mostly for people on Depp’s side. It’s really drawing attention to the fact that men, contrary to popular belief, can indeed be victims of domestic violence.
