Quick Tips for Freezing Bread

You can make sure you never waste bread by freezing it. However, you want to make sure you do this correctly so that you don’t end up ruining it in the long run. Check out some helpful tips from Frugal Living for freezing your bread:

For Short Term Storage (less than 3 weeks)

Wrap your homemade bread in some plastic wrap, foil or freezer paper after it has cooled completely. Then place into the freezer. For store-bought bread, just throw it right in the freezer with its original wrapping. The plastic bag that the bread came in will keep it protected for a few weeks.

For Long Term Storage (longer than 3 weeks)

First, wrap your bread tightly in plastic wrap. Next, wrap it again in some foil or freezer paper. Be sure to write the date on the bread before you throw it in the freezer and try to use the bread with 6 months.

For any bread that you’ve frozen, just place the loaf into the refrigerator overnight to thaw!
