Over the years, there have been multiple news stories about police officers who weren’t exactly behaving in the best way possible, but we believe that most police officers are upright, honest citizens who truly want to help people.
Have you ever thought about what it must be like to be a police officer? When we want to run and hide and call for help, police officers are there to rescue us. They face dangerous situations so that we don’t have to.
Recently, one police officer named Cameron Tucker was at a restaurant eating dinner with his wife, Justine. They were minding their own business, enjoying a meal together, when a young man named Juan walked up to their table. He had an unexpected request.
Juan asked Cameron if “he could pray over him and for his protection.” Cameron must have said yes, because Justine snapped a photo of Juan laying his hand on Cameron’s shoulder while Cameron had his head bowed and his eyes closed.
Justine shared the photo she took on Facebook. She wrote that Juan “said that he had felt compelled to talk to us and to pray over Cameron.”
Her post has since gone viral. At the time of publication, her post already has 4.2k comments and 21k shares. Wow!
Many of the comments are prayers of their own for Cameron, his family and for Juan. For example, one person wrote, “Almighty God keep protection around this family the young man that is spreading your holy word!”
The post is impacting more than Christians. In fact, one person who is Wiccan felt moved by the photo and wrote the following comment, “While I am not Christian (I’m Wiccan) I can still feel the power and emotion behind this as I feel that the Creator we all worship, no matter your faith, is all one in the same. I read this article while at work and balled my eyes out at my desk. What a touching and emotional moment.”
