Rapper Post Malone, whose birth name is Austin Richard Post, is known for songs like “Congratulations” and “Better Now.” Recently, many of his fans have noticed that he’s lost quite a bit of weight. Some speculated that drug use was causing the weight loss, but Post has decided to set the record straight. He is not doing drugs. There’s another much healthier reason for his weight loss.

Post shared that he has decided to eliminate one of his favorite beverages from his diet. There are only rare occasions when he really feels like celebrating or rewarding himself that he allows himself to enjoy this beverage. Otherwise, he no longer drinks it. What’s the beverage? Soda.

In an Instagram post in April, Post wrote, “I wanted to say that i’m not doing drugs, I’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and I’d suppose, performance on stage. I’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier. I guess dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda, and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel.”

Post and his fiancee secretly had a baby girl, and this new dad wants to be healthy for his daughter. Besides eliminating soda, Post also eventually plans to eliminate some other things from his life such as “smokes and brews,” but he’s taking it one step at a time.

On the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, Post shared, “Soda is so bad. It’s so good but so bad.” He added that now the only time he lets himself drink soda is when he “had a great show, and you know what, I’m feeling a little bit naughty, I’m going to have myself a Coke on ice.” Otherwise, he considers soda off limits.

This one big change to his diet has really made a difference. He used to weigh 240 pounds, and now after dropping 55 pounds, he weighs 185 pounds. That is a pretty impressive weight loss!

Do you know anyone who decided to make some healthy changes have becoming a parent? Do you drink a lot of soda? Would you consider eliminating soda from your diet?
