These 13 Pies Made By a Self-Taught Baker Would Be Stunning on Any Thanksgiving Table

Helen Nugent does not have any official training when it comes to baking, but she has mad baking skills. She gives all the credit to her mother, who she describes as “an excellent baker.”

Nugent has always considered baking a fun hobby, but her real job was in corporate communications. She wanted a career change, and she credits social media for allowing her baking to get the attention it needed for her to turn her hobby into a new career.

It all started when Nugent posted pictures of the pies she made on Pinterest. She told Bored Panda, “That led to doing work for Food Network which led to a book offer which led to a new career! I know social media gets a bad rap but sometimes great things can come from it. I’m living proof of that.”

Her new book is titled “Pie Style,” and it’s filled with instructions on how to make pies look as stunning at she does. Nugent also shares recipes and pie-making tips on her blog and on Instagram.
