Even if you consider yourself pretty handy when it comes to cars, there have probably been at least a couple times when you’ve had to visit a mechanic. Perhaps your car wouldn’t start. Perhaps it was making a weird sound and you couldn’t figure out what was causing it. Perhaps the check engine light came on.

Whatever the reason, you roll into the mechanic’s shop, and your vehicle is now in their capable hands. You expect them to be able to figure out what’s wrong and fix it. That’s their job, after all.
