Pediatric Office Creates T-Shirts to Combat the Misinformation About Vaccine Side Effects
With the number of measles outbreaks in the country reigniting discussions on vaccine policies, many are voicing their opinions online. But a pediatric office in New York is making their stance known with their wardrobe.
Staff at Legacy Pediatrics in Rochester posed for a picture wearing t-shirts that read, “Vaccines Cause Adults.” They posted the photo on Facebook as a way to send a message about vaccines. According to Scary Mommy, an office PA saw the saying on a meme and was inspired to have it printed onto a shirt.
Vaccines. Save. Lives. ❤️❤️ (special thanks to Crazy Dog T-Shirts for making these for us!!!)https://www.crazydogtshirts.com/products/vaccines-cause-adults-mens-tshirt

Local business Crazy Dog T-Shirts created the shirts for the office for free. Since posting the photo, it’s gone viral and so has the popularity of the tee. Now, the medical office is taking orders for the design and the t-shirt company plans on donating the proceeds to charity.
While Legacy Pediatrics has received a huge support for their idea, they’ve also attracted commenters from the other side of the vaccine debate. Some parents wrote on the office’s Facebook page that they’ve lost a child from vaccine injury or are caring for one who is wheelchair-bound with seizures. They call it insensitive.
It is a topic causing emotions to flare up whether people are pro-vaccine, pro-spreading vaccine schedules out, or against them. Physicians and health organizations want to adamantly remind the public that the illnesses we’re seeing in 2019 and recent years can be prevented with proper vaccine protocols.
Legacy Pediatrics wants to remind people that vaccines cause adults. In their words, “Everyone can have their opinion, ours is based on factual and strong data.”
What do you think of these t-shirts? Has your pediatrician’s office made similar statements?
