Pamela Anderson, timeless actress and model, stole the spotlight at the 2023 Fashion Awards in London, embracing a makeup-free look that showcased her natural beauty. The 56-year-old icon graced the red carpet in an all-white ensemble, donning wide-leg pants, a loose-fit tee, and a cream-colored blazer casually draped over her shoulders.
Anderson’s minimalist yet chic appearance emphasized her radiant and barefaced beauty, a departure from conventional red-carpet glamour. Small silver stud earrings added a touch of sophistication to the ensemble, while her hair, pulled back into a low ponytail, highlighted her flawless complexion.
This makeup-free look is not a new phenomenon for Pamela Anderson. Earlier in the year, she made waves at Paris Fashion Week when she attended the Vivienne Westwood show in couture attire without a trace of makeup. In a behind-the-scenes video published by Vogue France (see below), Anderson revealed the inspiration behind her choice to go bare-faced.
“I don’t want to compete with the clothes,” Anderson shared while getting ready for the show. “I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room. I feel like it’s just freedom. It’s a release.”
The Baywatch star expressed that she was experimenting with her new look independently, emphasizing her lack of reliance on a stylist or glam team. “I don’t need a stylist. I don’t have a stylist. I don’t have a glam team. I’m just kind of doing this, freestyle,” explained Anderson. She sees herself as a model not just for fashion but for embracing one’s unique beauty in every aspect.
“As a woman in the public eye, it’s also your job to be a model of everything. Just all sorts of choices,” she added. “So I am just being me, kind of who I am, in all these great clothes running around Paris.”
In an interview with Elle, Anderson reflected on her decision, describing the experience as “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.” The actress acknowledged the prevalence of bold makeup looks at fashion events and expressed her inclination to go against the norm.
“Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone’s doing,” she said.
