For anyone who enjoys their fair share of royal family gossip, you’re probably excited that the long-awaited book “Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan,” is finally here. The book, written by Christopher Andersen as a follow-up to another best-seller, “Diana’s Boys,” details two decades of Prince William and Harry and how their relationship has evolved in that time.

If you are a royal family fan, you likely know that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, took a step back as senior members of the royal family at the beginning of 2020. Their decision had a lot to do with becoming more financially independent, raising their son, Archie, and being able to focus on other goals that they had.

The decision was not met lightly by everyone in the royal family. However, Queen Elizabeth met them with support. “My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family,” she said in a statement at the time. “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”

That’s why it was a shock when the book stated that the queen actually snubbed the ex-royals before they were even ex-royals.

In the book, a source is quoted saying that back in 2019, the Queen was getting ready to film her annual holiday broadcast, when she “looked over the tables where the photographs she had so lovingly selected were arranged.”

“All were fine but one, [the Queen] told the director., the book states, going on to say that she then pointed to a picture of Harry and Meghan, stating, “That one, I suppose we don’t need that one.”

Getting rid of the photo came after Prince Harry had chosen to spend Christmas with Meghan, Archie, and his mother-in-law, Doria Ragland, in Canada rather than the UK with his family.

The book goes on to talk about just how upset Harry’s brother, Prince William, was (read: “terribly upset”) when he saw the broadcast with the missing photo. Harry was also appalled over the decision, telling a friend that he “felt as if he, Meghan and Archie were being erased from the family.”

To this day, Harry and Meghan are still separate from the royal family.
