We’ve seen Christopher Hopkins, a.k.a. The Makeover Guy, perform stunning transformations on dozens of men and women. His mission is to bring out the inner of beauty of strangers through “the Power of Pretty” – but his amazing job isn’t just reserved for people he doesn’t know.

For the first time ever, we’re seeing Christopher makeover someone who is very near and dear to him: his mother.

The “Makeover Mom,” Joann, is every bit as glamorous and stunning as we’d imagine Christopher’s mom would be. He explains that, his whole life, he watched her put her face on each and every morning. Joann never left the house without all full face of makeup, not even her own family had seen her with a naked face.

“She always said she’d rather answer the door without her clothes than without her makeup,” says Christopher.

But, of course, Christopher thinks his mother is beautiful with or without the help of cosmetics. Which is probably why he asked her, at 73 years old, to finally bare a naked face not just for him but for the millions of people watching his popular channel.

Christopher wanted to help his mom get a fresh new hairdo since she’s been wearing a wig in her older age, but he also wanted to show his viewers something spectacular: his mother’s coveted makeup routine, which she’s been faithful to for 54 years!

In the clip below, Joann removes her makeup and wig before showing Christopher and his viewers what her process looks like from scratch. We have to say, as stunning as the short pixie cut he gives her looks, we were even more hypnotized by her tried-and-true makeup routine.

This the first time Joann’s been without makeup on in public in 50 years – she doesn’t even take off her makeup for surgeries, running down the street for something at the store, or going to bed!

“Why would I want to go to bed with the person I love looking like hell?” She says. “In 42 years of marriage, I don’t think he’s seen me without makeup except once or twice, and that was quite by accident.”

Well, we think Joann is gorgeous without or without her full face on. But if she prefers to go to bed in her glamorous makeup, then so be it! Joann couldn’t be a more perfect example of living your life the way YOU feel most beautiful, and not by anyone else’s standards.
