Teachers are truly special people, with the passion to encourage kids at their best and be patient with them at their worst. When you have an especially amazing teacher, students want to show their appreciation in any way they can – particularly if there’s a big event going on in their educator’s life.

In this case, that big event was a wedding and that amazing teacher was Miss Liz.

Miss Liz teaches Dance and Musical Theater and absolutely loves her students. Knowing this, her fiancé, Ollie, decided to plan a special surprise for his bride. And, of course, he made sure to have his bride’s amazing reaction captured on film.

When the clip begins, the newlyweds are on the altar looking absolutely blissful. Liz looked gorgeous in her dress and veil and Ollie is grinning from ear-to-ear. Suddenly, a commotion in the back of the church draws everyone’s attention and we see Ollie pointing, telling Liz to look behind her.

As soon as she turns, Liz bursts into tears. We hear the sound of singing and realize that there’s a group up in the choir loft singing – it’s her Musical Theater class, arranged in chorus formation and dressed to the nines!

The kids are singing the love song “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, and the song has never sounded better than it does in that emotional moment. Between their sweet voices and Miss Liz balling her eyes out on the alter, this is one of the most touching wedding surprises we’ve ever gotten to see.

Apparently, not only did her fiancé plan this surprise for his soon-to-be wife, but their friend Jeren from Jaykays Dance Company helped planned everything. What we can’t believe is how well the kids kept this huge secret! As kids, they must have been busting to tell their favorite teacher what they were working on!

It’s just a tribute to how much they must love Miss Liz that they did all this hard work after school and didn’t let up on the secret even once.
