3-Year-Old Boy Who Disappeared from Grandmother’s Yard Has Been Found Alive

Good news is coming out of North Carolina today. Casey Hathaway, the 3-year-old boy who disappeared from his grandmother’s yard on Tuesday, has been found alive.

The little boy was playing outside with other children but did not come back in. Family members looked for him inside and outside the house before calling in the authorities. Along with the FBI, community volunteers, and a group of marines, the Craven County Sheriff’s Department searched the area for hours through cold and rainy conditions.

They checked the woods, a pond, and the general area. As the night wore on, everyone was concerned since Casey was not dressed for the weather and it was unclear whether this is a case of abduction or if he wandered off.

A team of rescue workers found the young boy on Thursday after hearing him call out for his mom. He was caught up some thorny vines but is in good spirits and good health! According to People, a woman who identified as Casey’s aunt posted the following on Facebook:

“Casey is healthy, smiling, and talking. He said he hung out with a bear for two days God sent him a friend to keep him safe. God is good God. Miracles do happen”

The sheriff’s office is continuing their investigation into what led to the boy’s disappearance on Tuesday. Click below to hear more about Casey’s case!
