When it comes to parents and their kids, strong genes are no surprise. We see it with Reese Witherspoon, Christopher Reeve’s son, and everyday folks like us. At 5”11, Sam Michael Fox is at least half a foot taller than his father, but the facial resemblance is quite striking.

If you were around in the ‘80s, then you probably saw Michael J. Fox on your TV and movie screens on a fairly regular basis. He’s had a good career filled with faves like Family Ties, Teen Wolf, and of course, the Back to the Future franchise.

Who doesn’t love those movies? For the past few decades, we’ve seen him grow up from Marty McFly and become characters such as Mike Flaherty and Louis Canning, with many more before, in between, and after. He’s been busy!

Besides being busy with work, he and wife Tracy Pollan raised four kids: Sam Michael, 28, twins Schuyler and Aquinnah, 23, and Esmé, 16. And Sam is the spitting image of his dear old dad!

Fox has largely kept his children out of the spotlight, save for the occasional TV or red carpet appearance, so it may come as a shock to some that he has a doppelganger son. All of Fox’s kids grew up in New York with relatively normal childhoods in spite of the fact that they have famous parents.

After Sam graduated high school, he attended Stanford University for a couple of years before leaving to work for an online farm-to-table company. Now, he’s jumped into sales for a startup firm called onefinestay that links traveling out-of-towners with homeowner/hosts. He’s not that busy on social media, but here and there he’ll post a pic on Instagram.

His dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at age 29, and ever since, Sam and his family have been involved with Fox’s charity, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. He was just 2 years old when his father learned he had the condition.

He gets a lot of his down-to-earth sensibilities from his father, whose attitude towards life has been one of optimism and acceptance. One of the more recent photos of the two together was taken at a hockey game in 2015.

At 56, it doesn’t look like Michael J. Fox has aged much over the last few decades, so it’s easy for his son to be mistaken for him. In fact, it happens every once in a while when he’s in public! Lucky for him, he’s not a regular subject for paparazzi and he was able to stay out of the spotlight for most of his life.

Although it’s clear Sam doesn’t have any plans to follow in his dad’s footsteps and work in show business, we still are game to see him in Back to the Future, part 4. Come on, you know you were thinking it.

Do you think Sam Fox looks just like his father? Are you a fan of Michael J. Fox? What other celebrities can you think of with lookalike offspring?
