The Royal Feud Special Confirms That Meghan Will Have to Bow to Kate Once She Is Queen

It’s been a tough few weeks for fanboys and fangirls of the Royal Family. For decades, the famous family unit was plagued with drama galore in the form of affairs, public image issues, and divorces galore–and, we for one, thought that the members had evolved past these less-than-savory exploits. But, we are sad to report that a very real rivalry is now brewing between two of the most powerful members of the Family, Duchess Kate and Duchess Meghan.

Though we’re, admittedly, still on the fence as to what degree we should be buying into the “infighting hype,” the outcry has just been far too loud to ignore!

In fact, just this past week, TLC aired Kate v. Meghan: Princesses at War?, a TV special that really stoked the flames of this ever-blazing fire of gossip. In it, we heard from a series of Royal Family experts and close sources, with many confirming that a rift between the duchesses is quite possibly a very real issue.

The special featured commentary from Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, a Royal insider who gave us a sneak peek into just how complex these family dynamics can be.

“[Duchess Meghan is] a strong, independent woman whose views will be difficult to change and that’s where she’s going to clash with members of the royal family and the royal household, if she doesn’t conform and do as she’s told.”

Burrell also noted that he feels that “disgruntled” palace employees might be leaking info to the press for monetary gain, yet another facet of this story that we find to be upsetting. “A lot of rumors about Kate and Meghan are manufactured to sell newspapers. It’s just too good a story,” the Royal insider reveals.

Shocking stuff, right? Well, if all of this is true, what makes the situation even more awkward is the fact that Duchess Meghan will have to take on a submissive role to Duchess Kate when her sister-in-law becomes Queen. According to royal tradition and protocol, the Duchess of Sussex will have to curtsy and bow to the Duchess of Cambridge once she takes the throne–whenever that may be.

While we cringe to think of how uncomfortable this could be for Duchess Meghan, we seriously hope that the two work out their differences before this becomes a reality. There’s nothing worse than having to submit to anyone, but it’s much worse when you have to do it to someone you can’t stand…

To learn even more about the supposed feud, and to get a sneak peek of what to expect in the TLC special, Kate v. Meghan: Princesses at War?, be sure to watch the video below. For the good of the family–and the world!–we really hope that this is all just speculation; we would much rather see these two strong women get along than disagree!
