It may only be September, but we can’t help it: We’re already in the Christmas spirit. We have to be, right? How else are we going to get through the continuing COVID-19 pandemic?

Because everyone around the country has been so down in the dumps, companies—particularly, TV channels—have been trying to raise people’s spirits by giving them something to look forward to. And what better way to do that than with something that relates to the most wonderful time of the year?

For example, Hallmark aired a Christmas movie marathon smack dab in the middle of lockdown when everyone was quarantined in their homes. Sure, it was back in March, a whopping nine months before Christmas, but who cares? Christmas makes people happy!

They did it for the same reason that people decided that we should hang Christmas lights on our houses in the middle of March, too—just to give others a glimmer of home in a dark time.

Now that we’re in September, it’s still far from Christmas, but Netflix has just come out with an announcement that they just couldn’t wait to share: “The Christmas Chronicles 2” is happening, and stars of the first in the series, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, will be returning as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Well, Netflix, you certainly have a way of making spirits bright! If you’ve seen the first Christmas Chronicles, a true feel-good holiday film, then you’re going to be jumping for joy about this one.

And if you’ve never seen the first one, it’s about two siblings who try to come up with a plan to capture Santa Claus on Christmas Eve (because what kid doesn’t try to do that?). Alas, their ideas don’t quite go according to plan, and, well, you’ll just have to see the rest.

The Christmas Chronicles 2 will be available on Netflix to watch at the end of November. For now, you can watch a short sneak-peek trailer of the new Christmas Chronicles 2 in the video below.

To quote Netflix themselves, “It’s time for Mrs. Claus to get her due.” Are you a fan of the first Christmas Chronicles movie? Are you excited for the sequel? What’s your all-time favorite Christmas movie that you can’t wait to watch this year?
