Rock band KISS is in the midst of their farewell tour, but recently, many fans were left disappointed when they received the unexpected news about show cancelations.

On November 22, 2023, KISS member Paul Stanley shared a picture of himself in a hospital bed. In the post, he apologized to fans for being sick and for his sickness causing the cancellation of two shows in Canada. He wrote, “Toronto And Ottawa… I’ve done everything possible to get onstage and be a part of the incredible 2 1/2 hour celebration we planned but this flu has made it impossible. I along with Gene, Tommy and Eric couldn’t be more disappointed and send our deepest apologies.”

Unfortunately, those weren’t the only shows the band ended up having to cancel while Stanley tried to recover from the flu. The band also ended up canceling their show that was originally scheduled to happen at the Food City Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Friday November 24, 2023.

Thankfully, Stanley did end up making a full recovery. The show went on as originally planned the following night in Indiana at Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse. There was no indication during the show that Stanley had ever been sick except for what he had to say about his experience with the flu during a pre-show sound check.

During a Q&A session during the pre-show soundcheck in Indianapolis, Stanley explained how bad he felt when he had the flu. He said, “You know, I’ve done shows with cracked ribs, I’ve done shows with a 103 fever,” but his experience with the flu was even whose than those experiences. He shared, “I literally… I was wondering if it was my time.”

Thankfully, it wasn’t, and it seems that he made a full recovery. He added, “I’m here and its awesome.”

The Kiss farewell tour, which is called Kiss’ End of the Road, is almost over. The last concert date is December 2nd. It appears that the shows that were canceled in Toronto, Ottawa and Knoxville will not be rescheduled.

The final show is set to take place in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. If you were unable to make it to a show in person, you can watch the final show live on pay-per-view. You can also enjoy this video of KISS performing their song “Forever.”
