One of the easiest ways to add some pizazz to your cupcakes is to wrap them and bake them in fun patterned liners. These pretty papers aren’t exactly cheap, though, and it can feel like you’re baking money away when they come out of the oven with splotchy grease marks marring the pictures. Fear not! How To Cake That has an easy solution for us that makes use of a common household staple: rice! How does it work? Follow these simple steps:
- Spoon a teaspoon of rice into each cupcake cup in a standard-size pan.
- Spread out the rice into an even layer within each cup. Add more rice if necessary.
- Place the liners in the cups over the rice. They’ll stick out a little bit, but that’s OK!
- Bake as normal.
That’s it! The rice will absorb any excess oil and prevent any grease and subsequent stains. Easy, right? Will you give this trick a try? Do you have any tips of your own for preventing grease stains on your cupcake liners?
