Kate Gosselin is facing a medical crisis.
On Monday, Sept. 29, the 50-year-old nurse and former reality TV star shared a concerning update on TikTok, posting a photo from a hospital bed. In the image, she appeared connected to IVs and told her followers that she would “really appreciate prayers” during this difficult time.
“Please pray for me tonight and tomorrow.🙏 I will be fine, but I’m scared and would appreciate prayers!” she wrote. “Thanks, guys😘”
Kate added, “Emergencies don’t care about schedules! Please DON’T worry about me! Please pray instead!” she said. “Don’t worry, story time to follow when I’m able! Love you guys! I’ll be back as soon as I can! 😘”
Kate Gosselin has not yet shared specifics about her current medical emergency, but earlier this month she spoke candidly about the lingering health challenges she’s faced since carrying sextuplets, according to PEOPLE.
The Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, 50, and her former husband Jon Gosselin welcomed twin daughters Mady and Cara in 2000, followed by sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel in 2004. Today, the twins are 24, and the sextuplets are 21.
In a TikTok video posted on Sept. 9, Kate revealed that she has continued to struggle with bladder issues as a result of her multiple births.
“When I was pregnant with them, my stomach was squished up here, like 1 inch. You can see it on an ultrasound,” Kate said. “And my bladder was squished way down here, compressed the whole time with baby weight. Compressed, compressed, compressed.”
“Turns out that my bladder was so compressed that it lost its ability to do what a bladder is supposed to do. It’s a muscle. And it lost its elasticity or whatever.”
Kate + Eight explained that she once required a catheter for a week, and since that time her bladder has never fully recovered. She shared that while it’s difficult to describe or pinpoint exactly what changed, she has experienced ongoing issues that feel noticeably different from before.
