Johnny Depp Has Resigned From His Role In The “Fantastic Beasts” Series After Losing Court Battle

A celebrity’s life is certainly not private, and it’s often hard to know whether or not the stories you read about celebrities are true. Something they are made up, but sometimes they impact a celebrity’s career.

The Sun published an article that said actor Johnny Depp beat his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Depp claims that the there is no truth to this story, and he responded by suing the Sun for libel. Depp lost the case against the Sun.

Now, just days after the judge’s decision, Depp has announced that Warner Bros. asked him to resign from his role in the franchise “Fantastic Beasts.” Depp has played Grindelwald in the “Fantastic Beasts” series since 2016.

Depp has decided to respect Warner Bros. request and resign from the role which will be recast. Just because he is walking about from the role of Grindelwald does not mean that he is walking accepting the judge’s verdict.

In a statement, Depp wrote, “The surreal judgement of the court in the UK will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal. My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time.”
