Jamie Lynn Spears Speaks Out Following Britney’s Testimony But Many Fans Aren’t Buying Her Message
Last week, Britney Spears finally broke her silence. She spoke to judge Brenda Penny for 24 minutes. In her testimony, she claimed that she was lying when she told fans on social media that she was okay. She made it very clear that she was not okay and has not been okay for a very long time.
Britney asked the judge to end the conservatorship without requiring her to be evaluated again, but that wasn’t all she said she wanted. Among other statements, she said that she wants to sue her family and blames her family, in particular her father, Jamie Spears, for using the conservatorship to abuse her.
While many of Britney’s fans felt even more compelled to support the #FreeBritney movement, Britney’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, remained silent. Instead of making a statement herself, her husband, Jamie Watson, released a statement defending the family. Regarding his sister-in-law’s claims, he said, “I can assure you her family loves her and wants the best for her.”
Britney’s fans are pretty sure Jamie Lynn made him make the statement since she wasn’t willing to do so. They don’t like that he and his wife seem to be standing up for themselves and their family instead of supporting Britney.

Some of Britney’s supporters even started a petition to have Jamie Lynn removed from the Netflix show “Sweet Magnolias.” After the petition started, Jamie Lynn finally decided to speak up.
On her Instagram stories, the actress said that she didn’t want to say anything until after Britney had a chance to speak for herself. She went on to say, “I support that 100 percent because I support my sister. I love my sister, always have, always will, as long as she’s happy.” She stressed that she wants her sister to be happy, and she claimed that she doesn’t benefit in any way if her sister is in the conservatorship or not. She explained that she has been paying her own bills since she was 10 years old. Basically, she defended herself instead of defending Britney, and that left a bad impression on many Britney supporters.
