How to Make Money Spring Cleaning Your Closet

One important aspect of spring cleaning involves getting rid of all of that unwanted and unused clothing. And to make the purge even more satisfying, it’s wonderful if you can turn a profit on your old clothes. Check out these 3 great websites that help you do just that without much fuss:

Etsy

While Etsy might be most well-known as a place to buy and sell handmade goods, it’s also a great site for buying and selling vintage items. Have clothing that’s at least 20 years old? Then you’ve got clothing that qualifies as “vintage” and you can list on Etsy. For each listing (lasting 4 months), Etsy charges just 20 cents and then collects a 3.5% commission for each item that actually sells.

Tradesy

Tradesy is the place to sell if you’re looking to turn a profit on more contemporary pieces. The best part about Tradesy is that they make selling a breeze. Once an item sells, they’ll send you a shipping kit to make it easy to get your stuff on its way to the buyer. For all of this, Tradesy takes a 9% commission on each sale.

Twice

Twice is a great site that we’ve mentioned before. After you research their site and find out a bit about what you’re likely to earn for your suff, you request a bag from them and send in your clothing. Then, the website will plug an offer into their site that you can either accept or reject. If anything gets rejected, you can either get it back (incurring a small fee) or have them send it to charity for you. After this, Twice will handle everything else, from photography to shipping.
