Although they might sound complicated, pickled onions are super easy to make – this recipe only requires about five ingredients and five minutes of your time! America’s Test Kitchen is sharing with us their own five-ingredient pickled onion recipe. And these pickled onions? They’re a delicious sweet and sour flavor.

- 1 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 thinly sliced jalapenos
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Sliced onions
- Combine all your ingredients (minus the onions) into a pot. Set the pot on medium heat and let the vinegar come to a boil.
- Pour the concoction over sliced onions and let it sit until it has reached desired flavor. Usually five minutes will work.
