Make Your Egg Salad Healthier with One Special Ingredient
Egg salad is a simple and delicious sandwich staple – definitely a family favorite from many childhoods. Sadly, (as it turns out with many yummy foods) traditional egg salad is not the best for you. The fat from the mayonnaise used in your regular egg salad recipe significantly adds up, taking away a lot of the health value found in eggs themselves.
But cheer up, egg salad lovers! This amazing recipe replaces the fattening mayo with a super healthy and delicious ingredient: avocado. As a healthier fat, avocado brings a new, full flavor to your salad, while lightening up the fat and calorie count. Watch the video below and learn how to make this healthy twist on an old favorite!
• 1 ripe Hass Avocado, halved, seeded and peeled
• 6 hardboiled eggs, peeled and halved
• 1 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
• 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 cup minced onion
• 2 Tbsp. chopped chives (optional)
This would be perfect for a quick breakfast or filling lunchtime treat! What do you think of this healthy egg salad recipe? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
