First of all, let’s get one thing clear. Jimmy Fallon is not dead. What he actually is is annoyed. At Twitter. And at a trending hashtag.

The hashtag #RIPJimmyFallon has been trending on Twitter. It started as a joke, but not everyone got the joke.

On Tuesday November 15, 2022, Twitter user @EclipseShade69 tweeted a picture of James Corden along with the text, “Gone but not forgotten. Rest easy king 🕊🥀Sept 19, 1974-Nov 15, 2022 #RIPJimmyFallon.”

Then, Twitter user @SolidusJJ shared a picture of the Tonight Show’s Twitter account which appeared to post #RIPJimmyFallon along with a picture of Fallon with his dog.

Meanwhile, Twitter users who got the joke tweeted the hashtag #RIPJimmyFallon along with a picture of someone else or false information about Fallon.

Some Twitter users even joked about how Fallon would respond to the hashtag.

Fallon doesn’t find the hashtag amusing. In fact, he wants it taken down. In response, he tweeted the hashtag and tagged Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, asking Musk to “fix this.”

Musk, who gained control of Twitter in October and has since fired many employees including employees who moderated content, replied back to Fallon, but his reply was not at all helpful. He simply asked, “Fix what?”

For the record, Fallon is not dead. This hashtag was and is all a joke. It is also still trending.
