Watch This Young Trick-or-Treater Make a Halloween Faux Pas!
Do you guys remember your first Halloween? I recall the excitement of realizing that I could actually go around and beg for candy without getting reprimanded or told that sugar was bad for my teeth—a true revelation for a toddler! Today, we have one of the funniest first Halloweens around. Spoiler alert: this little cutie hasn’t quite mastered the art of trick-or-treat.
Of course, in this day and age every parent has their smart phone up and ready to record all of their child’s important firsts. This girl’s father is no different, and we sure are happy about it. This is one of the funniest and sweetest reactions to a first Halloween that we’ve ever seen.
The video starts off with a family knocking on a door for Halloween. We then see a precious little girl dressed in her best insect garb. All is going well until a woman answers the door.
Let’s just say that the saucy little lady bug isn’t too familiar with the standard trick-or-treating procedures. She rings the doorbell and when the resident answered the door, the tot just strolls right into the house. Well, they do say that if you want to show your power you should walk around like you own the place, right?
Though we love how confident this kid is, maybe her folks should go over that “don’t walk into stranger’s homes and take candy from them” talk! All in due time, little one. What we also adore about this entire scenario is the welcoming, warm tone of the homeowner. When the tyke literally trespasses into her house, she calmly says, “That’s alright! Come on in.” I know, I know, it would be hard for anyone to say no to this cute little girl, but the sentiment is still very sweet.
Personally speaking, my favorite detail in this video is the fact that the lady gives out KING-SIZED CANDY BARS! We all know that neighbors who do that are considered to have the “holy grail” house for any Halloween celebration. I wonder if the neighborhood kids change their costumes just so they can go back for more sweet treats.
Following the rhythm of the rest of the video, our teeny tiny protagonist doesn’t quite “get” how the candy exchange between resident and trick-or-treater works. Of course, the little girl takes a king-sized Snickers bar, then tries to swipe a second one on the down low. Well, who can really blame her—she’s just a little one! I’m not bitter about being too old to collect candy during Halloween anymore, but something tells me if I busted out my lady bug costume, that woman wouldn’t be as forgiving to me.
