‘Sleep Doctor’ Reveals Why Going Outside Could Help You Sleep Better

Have you ever had trouble falling asleep at night? Perhaps you can’t get comfortable or your mind is racing thinking about problems or things you have to do the next day. Every little noise distracts you from sleep and you feel either too hot or too cold.

We’ve been there, waiting not so patiently to fall asleep and knowing we have to get up the next day with an endless list of important things to do makes it even more stressful.

What’s interesting is that even when we have trouble falling asleep at night, we almost always have the opposite problem in the morning. Sure, it might just be that we’re tired in the morning because we had trouble sleeping at night, but it still seems odd that the things that bothered us at night don’t bother us in the morning. The bed feels comfortable. The temperature feels just right. Even the sunlight streaming in through the windows makes us want to close our eyes that much tighter.

If only we could all fall asleep easily at night and wake up ready to take on the day in the morning. Are sleeping pills the answer? Is there an easy home remedy?

Dr. Michael Breus, who is also known as “The Sleep Doctor,” has helpful advice for anyone who has trouble sleeping at night. Instead of popping a pill, unless perhaps it’s vitamin D, Dr. Breus has many helpful suggestions about things we can do during the day and before going to bed to make it easier to fall asleep and easier to get up in the morning.

Some of Dr. Breus’s suggestions for better sleep include light therapy and vitamin D. He also gives us an ideal temperature range for sound sleep. In addition, Dr. Breus gives us suggestions about how to make it easier to get up when our alarm goes off in the morning even if it’s still dark outside.
