Go Easter Egg “Krazy” With DIY Kool-Aid Dye

Egg-dying is the original – and the best! – Easter craft, fun and festive for both kids and kids-at-heart. Those egg-dying kits you get at the store can be great, but if your family is like mine, you either forget to buy the kit until they’re all sold out, or you end up with a lot of wasted extra pieces and some dull colors. This year, why not change it up like Totally the Bomb and dye your eggs with something already in your pantry: Kool-Aid!

All you have to do is fill your preferred dye bowls – we usually just use plastic cups – with about 3/4 cup of water and pour in your Kool-Aid packet. Gently drop in an egg and let it sit for about a minute. Pull it out and voila! You’ve got some kaleidoscopic eggs!

With all the different Kool-Aid flavors, you can get lots of “krazy kolors.” Which ones do you think will make the best dyes? Have you ever tried alternative Easter egg dyes before, or do you prefer to stick with a kit?
