Anheuser-Busch Introduces ‘Get a Shot, Get a Beer’ Incentive to Get More Americans Vaccinated

President Biden has a goal. He wants at least 70% of American adults to have had at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine before July 4, 2021. We’re not there yet, but the 4th of July is still a month away.

The CDC estimates that currently 12 states have already met the goal of having at least 70% of American adults at least partially vaccinated. Nationwide, at least 60% of American adults have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

While the idea of health, safety and the return to a pre-pandemic world might be enough incentive for some people to get vaccinated, other people are a little bit more hesitant. President Biden and Anheuser-Busch, the company that makes Budweiser, hope to motivate more Americans to get vaccinated by offering them free beer.

President Biden announced that if America reaches his vaccination goal by July 4th, Budweiser is going to give away free beer. He said, “That’s right: Get a shot, have a beer. We need everyone across the country to pull together to get us over the finish line. I promise you, we can do this.”

In a news release, the CEO of Anheuser-Busch, Michel Doukeris, stated, “At Anheuser-Busch, we are committed to supporting the safe and strong recovery of our nation and being able to be together again at the places and with the people we have missed so much. This commitment includes encouraging Americans to get vaccinated, and we are excited to buy Americans 21+ a round of beer when we reach the White House goal.”

If you’re not a beer drinker, Anheuser-Busch has other options. They are willing to buy you any Anheuser-Busch product including beer, seltzer, or a non-alcoholic beverage.

In order to participate in the “get a shot, get a beer” promotion, you would need to do two things. First, get vaccinated for COVID-19 to help America reach President Biden’s goal of 70% vaccination by the 4th of July. Second, sign up for a free beer by filling out this form.

Do you think the idea of getting a free beer will motivate more Americans to get vaccinated for COVID-19? If not, what do you think would motivate people to get vaccinated? Are you going to sign up for a free beer?
