This Whipped Cream Topping is So Cute in Cocoa

After a day of frozen fingers and chapped lips from battling the winter cold, there are few things that can lift our spirits (and warm our bodies) quite like hot chocolate. This classic beverage has been a wintertime staple for most of us since we were kids, and there’s no need to give it up now that we’re grown!

In fact, it seems that hot chocolate has only evolved since we were young. Our favorite childhood beverage has found ways to become spicier, boozier, and more decorative than ever before.

What happened to simple powder packets and plain mini-marshmallows, you ask? It’s safe to say, while this classic drink will always have a special place in our hearts, the time of basic hot cocoa is over.

Maybe if you’re just whipping yourself up a quick mug to quell a craving, sure, but if you’re planning on serving cocoa for an upcoming holiday party? You need to step up your hot chocolate game.

Looking to upgrade your regular cocoa? Well, LittleThings has shared with us a perfect little way to add some fun, edible pizzazz to our cocoa, and we’re going to share it with you.

The idea is simple, yet brilliant: frozen whipped cream snowmen. These yummy snowmen are going to look so adorable floating on top of your mug…but we bet they’re going to taste even better!

Here’s what you’ll need to make this festive cocoa topping:

  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Shaved orange chocolate
  • Round cookie cutter

Make sure to check out the video below to get the full instructions for these whipped cream snowmen! You definitely won’t regret it; this is a topping that both kids and adults will adore.

Not only will these snowmen be a hit at any holiday party, but they’re incredibly easy to whip up (see what we did there?) at a moments notice. True, you’ll be making your own whipped cream in this recipe, but it’s so much easier than you might be anticipating. Although they may do this manually in the video, let it be known that there’s no shame in using a hand mixer if need be.

And don’t be afraid to get creative with your snowman’s look! Think about the plethora of candies out there for your disposal. We see licorice scarves, candy ear muffs, and chocolate pipes all as possible accessories for your snowman.

What a fun project to even do with the kids, letting them create their very own snowman topping! Trust us, they’re going to love making them just as much as they’ll love eating them.
