- Take the Stairs: obvious, but effective. 10 minutes of stair climbing throughout the day can burn 92 calories.
- Mow the Lawn: pushing a lawn mower around for 30 minutes can help you burn 147 calories. You can also burn those calories digging around in the garden.
- Music Practice: playing the piano can burn 85 calories in 30 minutes. Playing guitar can also burn a few.
- Housecleaning: 30 minutes of vacuuming or scrubbing can burn 196 calories.
- Family Game Night: playing cards and board games for 90 minutes can burn 159 calories. Just avoid the junk food while you’re doing it.
- Wash the Car: clean your own car and you’ll burn about 277 calories an hour.
