Jonnie Irwin is best known as a TV presenter on the British real-estate show ‘Escape to Country.’ Unfortunately, in 2022, Irwin received a diagnosis that forever changed his life.

In November 2022, Irwin revealed that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer that had spread from his lungs to his brain. When he was first diagnosed with cancer, he didn’t share it publicly. Instead, he only shared it with his family and close friends. Eventually, Irwin decided he needed to share the news with the world. It was only a matter of time.

Irwin knows that his life will be shorter than he had hoped, but he is trying to make the most of the time he has left. He wants to make as many memories as possible with his wife, Jessica, and his three sons, Rex, Rafa, and Cormac.

The journey with cancer has obviously not been an easy one, and Irwin has had another health scare recently which sent him to the hospital. On November 13th, 2023, Irwin shared a picture he took from his hospital bed. In the caption of the post, he explained why he was in the hospital. He wrote, “Back in hospital – been in since Friday with Jaundice.

Then Irwin explained the symptoms he had that sent him to the hospital and the treatment he’s been receiving. He wrote, “I had a fever and acute stabbing pain in my right hand side. Turns out I probably had an infection and otter issues which I won’t bore you with. Been on drips, regular bloods taken and have observations every 4 ours through day and night.”

Irwin shared that the program on the TV in the picture was BBC’s Morning Live, which he explained, “Didn’t think I’d be watching @bbcmorninglive from a hospital bed but it’s just part of the roller coaster life that this illness throws at you.”

Irwin also shared his thanks for the birthday wishes he has received and added an update about his cancer journey. He wrote, “I have another scan today followed by a meeting with my oncologist so fingers crossed for positive news.”
