Ellen DeGeneres Gives An Update on Her Battle With Covid-19

On December 10, 2020, Ellen DeGeneres announced via Twitter that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She wrote that she was “feeling fine” at the time, but she was still following CDC guidelines and taking all necessary precautions. Anyone who had any close contact with the daytime talk show host was notified, and her show wouldn’t film any more episodes until 2021.

The next day, DeGeneres shared a photo on Instagram where she was dressed in comfortable clothes and lying on the floor. We can only assume from the photo that she was no longer feeling fine, but she kept the post positive writing, “Thank you for all of your sweet messages. They’re helping a lot. Wally is helping too.”

A week has gone by since DeGeneres’s announcement, and if you’re wondering if she’s “feeling fine,” now we have an update. She shared a video on Instagram explaining that she ended up having a symptom that she didn’t even know was a symptom of COVID-19 until she had it and asked other people about it. Watch the video below to find out what unusual symptom she experienced.

As DeGeneres mentioned in the video, she is feeling 100% now. It seems that she is on the upswing from her battle with COVID-19, but she is still quarantining at her home in Los Angeles.

The fact that DeGeneres is feeling better is certainly good news. She has had an extremely rough year. After the pandemic started and her show stopped filming, many former guests and employees came forward to describe a very toxic work environment on the show and to claim that DeGeneres is far from the nice person she seems to be on her show.

DeGeneres addressed the claims during her show’s season premiere in September, but many people, including current and former show employees, were not impressed that she tried to turn the situation into a joke.
